Football

The Cabot Parks and Recreation Football Program is designed for youth ages 6 -12(Grades 1st through 6th). Through this program the fundamentals of football, value of team sports, and development of healthy habits are cultivated. We also educate our young athletes about accountability, discipline, and hard work which will help them achieve long term success.

Key notes:

1st and 2nd grade program will be using a 7-on-7 football format, this format is awesome for improving skills as an individual player and as a team. 7-on-7 football is non-contact and highly competitive. Designed to help develop pass defense skills and passing for all players, 7-on-7 is an excellent progression format that offers a tackle scheme in a non-tackle environment. With no tackling, no linemen, minimal gear and optional soft-shell helmets, 7-on-7 can prepare teams for a better tackle season.

3rd and 4th grade program will teach beginning tackling skills, ball handling, basic defense and plays.

5th and 6th grade program will teach controlled tackling, more advanced plays and defense schemes.
